Stages of Care
Your personal situation will determine what type of chiropractic care is best for you. Most people will begin in one of the three stages of care.
The first stage of care involves pain relief. Many people are introduced to chiropractic care because of an injury or physical condition that created pain or discomfort. Chiropractic is different than many other health treatments in that it treats the cause of the discomfort instead of trying to simply mask the symptoms.
The second stage of care involves corrective measures. We work toward improving your condition with long-term health in mind. To reach these goals, please be aware of two considerations. The first is that although the pain is no longer present, that doesn't necessarily mean the work is done. The second consideration is that often the body has been “stuck” in a bad alignment for so long that correcting it can actually cause temporary discomfort. This will go away as treatments continue.
The third stage of care is wellness care. Think of this as a maintenance program for your body. (Isn't if funny that people will keep their automobile on a strict maintenance program but will deny that same philosophy when it comes to taking care of themselves?) Wellness care keeps you operating at your optimum, making sure your body's nervous, muscular and spinal systems are working in tandem. You should experience more energy, an improved immune system, and overall better health because of it.
